Glasgow man accused of pouring acid on puppyJuly 10, 2019 , Share This StoryFacebookTwitteremailPrintLinkedinRedditGLASGOW, Ky.- A Glasgow man is accused of trying to kill his own puppy by pouring acid on it.Donnie Johnson, 64, is charged with second-degree cruelty to animals and torture of a dog or cat with serious physical injuries or death.Johnson is accused of dropping the dog off at the Barren River Animal Welfare Association on July 5. An arrest citation states the shelter employees knew immediately that the dog had been neglected, so they contacted police.According to the arrest citation, during their investigation, Johnson   son and wife told Glasgow police that Johnson had poured acid on the black lab mix in an attempt to kill it.The citation states that Johnson told officers that it was the sun that caused the dog   injuries.Due to the seriousness of the dog   injuries, the animal had to be put down.
