来到农村，映入眼帘最多的就是家庭院落四周的柿子树，入秋后，红彤彤的柿子悬挂枝头，格外显得喜庆，而枣树也不例外，它的数量不及柿子树量多，但是进入秋季后，绿油油的树冠中透出一个个褐红色的枣子，显得生机盎然，这也是农村特有的景色，常常引得路人驻足观望。



柿子树及枣树是民间公认的吉祥树，在千百年的发展中，柿子树曾经作为粮食供给人类吃食，因此被称为“铁杆粮食”，柿子甜蜜多汁，营养丰富，即可鲜食，又可加工，是一种经济作物，枣子更是人们喜欢吃食的一种水果，那么俗语俗语“柿子树上一把刀，枣子树上一根棍”，什么意思呢？



一、柿子树上一把刀
柿子树引起谐音“事事”，被人们栽植院落前后，寓意家庭事事如意，其树形优美，枝繁叶大，荫质优良，柿子果实是中秋祭月不可或缺的一种水果，柿子甜蜜多汁，兼具药效，在许多地区，柿子作为一种特有的经济作物而广泛种植，既然种植，高产无疑是果农期盼的。
“柿子树上一把刀”的意思就是为了让柿子结果多，需要对柿子树的枝干进行环割，它可以抑制当年新梢的营养生长，促进生殖生长，其环割最适宜的时间是谢花后的第一次落果，环割部位主要是主枝或主枝上的一级分枝，第一次环割在地面以上20厘米处，间隔10天左右，在其上5厘米处再环割一次，如果树势仍偏旺，可以进行第三次环割，这样可以提高柿子树坐果率。



二、枣子树上一根棍
枣树因其谐音“早”，在民间寓意为早生贵子，成熟之时，枣子外皮发红，口感脆甜，寓意日子红火甜美，因此在民间栽植颇多，枣树是我国传统名优特产树种，其实早在西周时期，枣子就被人们发现并利用，他们发酵酿造红枣酒，作为上乘贡品进贡。



枣树种植过程中，人们发现枣树的生长非常茂盛，为了获得枣子的丰收，可以用竹竿敲打枣树皮，这样可以削弱树势，抑制营养生长，从而增强生殖生长，有利于枣树花芽分化，来年就会多开花，坐果多，所以说“枣子树上一根棍”。
